10 checks we ran before relaunching atoconn.com

Consent, tracking, share previews, search and forms: the launch checklist we used on our own site, and why each check matters.

A relaunch is the cheapest moment to get the basics right. Before atoconn.com went live, we ran the same ten checks we now run for clients. None of them is glamorous, and each one decides whether the new site is found, shared and able to turn a visit into an enquiry.

Search

Four checks so search engines find, trust and rank the right pages.

  1. One address for every page: the bare domain and http versions redirect to https://www.atoconn.com.
  2. A sitemap that lists only real pages, each at the exact address the server serves.
  3. Titles that say what each page offers: short titles such as "About Us" became descriptive, very long ones were trimmed to show in full.
  4. Empty pages kept out of search until they have content.

Why it helpsSearch engines rank one strong version of each page, and searchers see clear titles they want to click.

Sharing

Two checks so every shared link works as an advert for the business.

  1. A branded preview for every page: shared links show that page's own headline and image, not one generic picture.
  2. Share buttons on articles and case studies, with each shared link tagged by platform.

Why it helpsShared links get more clicks, and you can see which platform sends visitors.

Measurement and consent

Two checks so you know where enquiries come from, with visitors' agreement.

  1. A simple cookie banner: nothing that measures visitors loads until someone accepts, and turning it off again is one click away.
  2. Every form counted as a lead in Google Analytics, Meta, LinkedIn and X.

Why it helpsEach enquiry can be traced to the post, search or campaign that brought it, so you invest more in what works.

Forms

Two checks so interested visitors actually finish the form.

  1. Only a name and email required on every form; everything else optional, and longer forms can be skipped step by step.
  2. A real test send from the live site for every form before announcing the launch.

Why it helpsFewer visitors give up halfway, and no enquiry is lost to a form that silently fails.
